UPCOMING: UNDERSTANDING COLOUR

Colour wheel style logo for K Colour Architectural Colour Consultation and Design Studio

Have you ever wondered why choosing paint colours seems to be such a struggle and why you feel you just can’t get it right?

We’re under the impression that because we make colour choices everyday we should somehow be able to make good choices when it comes to painting our homes.

This workshop is designed to help you see why that logic is flawed and to give you an understanding of how colour works and what happens to it when painted over a large surface area.

We are all inherently creative and come from a creative source. When we tap into that source we are connecting to the divine aspect within ourselves and linking to our true nature.

However, many people feel cut-off from their creativity, or believe they don't have the skills or talent. With curiosity as our guide, we'll explore creative process and the nature of how creativity emerges through movement, sound, vocalization, writing and co-creation.

Freed from attachment to outcome, this fertile ground gives space to whatever wants to emerge from our creative selves and strengthens our connection to the spirit of creativity.

These workshops are meant to explore a variety of creative genres that will be approached with a sense of play and attentiveness.

Kora Sevier
Workshop leader.

I’ve always been a multi-disciplinary artist. My creative career began in my home city of Montreal as a commercial photographer. After moving to Vancouver, I studied Fine Arts at Emily Carr University, followed by Theatre Arts at Langara College’s Studio 58, where I focused on Set Design but was keenly interested in all aspects of the theatre.

It was at Studio 58 that my love of Creative Process really took hold. Since then I have been deeply rooted in the idea of; if you open a space for anything to happen, what will emerge?

I’ve studied various forms of dance and movement, clown and mask work, breathwork, voice, singing, Tai Chi, and contact improv. I’m an active member in the Vancouver Ecstatic Dance community and a participant in the Vancouver Story Slam.

In the visual arts, my work has ranged from small to large, with most pieces having a three- dimensional aspect. My use of mediums is varied and informed by studies in Japanese box making and creating handmade papers. I’ve designed and built theatre sets and props and also created my own line of jewellery.

I work with individuals and groups to create a container for creativity to emerge without fear or judgement.
