How does the process work?
I’ll set up an initial meeting with representatives of the strata or special committee to gather information and to view your building. After that you’ll receive a quote and scope of work documents from me.
Do we need to provide you with anything?
That depends on the scope of the project. For example, if we are changing lighting fixtures, I may need a count from you of how many fixtures there are in the building. These are all things that we will discuss during our initial meeting.
How long does it take?
My turn around time for paint colours is typically a week. Other items could take longer, for example carpet samples may need to be ordered from the manufacturer and could take a week to arrive.
Will you speak at our AGM or SGM?
Yes, I will happily attend and AGM or SGM where I will outline for all owners my decision making process in the colours I chose and to answer any questions they may have for me.
How many different options do you provide?
I suggest no more than two options regardless of the scope of work.
What do you provide us with?
I will provide you with colour boards for the paint samples. These are printed samples approximately 3x4 inches that contain all suggested colours for walls, trim etc. We can discuss larger samples if you feel they will be necessary. If flooring is being replaced, samples will be provided. With lighting fixtures and door hardware I typically provide images of the items, if these are approved by the strata then the recommendation is to purchase a single item and have it installed for all owners to view.
What are your fees?
That depends on the scope of the project. With some projects I charge an hourly fee and with others I charge a flat fee. Please contact me for more information and to discuss the details of your project.

In May of this year, our Strata Council reached out to Kora Sevier, Architectural Colour Consultant and owner of "K Colour". A small group of council members had been trying to choose colours for the upcoming paint project at our townhouse complex. When it became clear that even the three of us couldn't agree, much less asking all the owners to come to a consensus, we went looking for help. We contacted a total of 4 Colour Consultant services and ended up choosing K Colour. Kora's website is very professionally set up with lots of photographs so we could get a good idea of her work and she responded to us in a very timely manner. I had the opportunity to talk with her before she came to meet our "Colour Team" and once we met her, we knew that we had the right person for our job.
In less than 2 weeks, Kora came back out to meet with us and share the two colour boards that she had put together for us. These included colours for this year's project (window trim, fascia boards, garage doors, casings and trims, vents, metal entrance gates and posts and our entrance pavilion), and future painting projects (stucco, doors and privacy fences). The owners loved the contemporary neutrals that Kora chose for this project and we held a vote on the two options. With the painting now well underway, we are thrilled with the updated look these colours have given our complex.
